Participation in sport and activities helps students develop important skills including teamwork, resilience, leadership, communication and positive relationships while encouraging active involvement in school life.

Students have opportunities to participate in physical education programs, interschool sport, sporting clinics, school competitions, Chess Club, performing opportunities, special event days and a variety of recreational and team-based activities throughout the year.

Chess Club

Karingal Primary School’s Chess Club provides students with opportunities to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving, concentration and decision-making skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Students can participate in regular chess activities, represent the school in interschool competitions and develop confidence through both individual and team challenges. Karingal Primary School is proud to regularly participate in interschool chess competitions and has hosted numerous chess events and tournaments, providing students with valuable opportunities to extend their skills and connect with students from other schools.

These experiences provide opportunities for students to challenge themselves, develop new skills, build confidence and demonstrate teamwork, creativity, strategic thinking, collaboration, sportsmanship and respect for others.

Activities beyond the classroom also encourage students to explore their interests, strengthen friendships and become actively involved in the wider school community.
