Learning at Karingal
Teaching and learning programs at Karingal Primary School are designed to engage, challenge and support every learner. Literacy and Numeracy form the foundation of learning and are supported through explicit teaching, differentiated learning opportunities and ongoing monitoring of student progress.
Students also participate in a broad and engaging curriculum across specialist areas including Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science and Japanese. Contemporary technologies and ICT resources are integrated throughout learning programs to support creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Facilities and Environment
Karingal Primary School features a range of modern facilities and learning spaces designed to support contemporary education and student engagement.
A standout feature of the school is the community garden, where students participate in hands-on learning experiences that promote sustainability, environmental awareness and wellbeing through the school’s vision to “Sow, Grow, Nurture and Harvest.”
The school also includes the BER Building, opened in 2011, which serves as the school’s junior learning centre and supports collaborative and flexible learning opportunities for younger students.
In 2024, the school also opened a new hall, art room, junior playground and upgraded basketball facilities to further support student learning, wellbeing and community connection.

The school values strong partnerships with families and the wider community. Karingal Primary School works closely with local organisations and services to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement opportunities.
An important partnership exists with Frankston City Council through Karingal PLACE, located adjacent to the school. This Early Years partnership provides access to additional facilities and supports positive transition opportunities for children and families entering school.
