At Karingal Primary School, we believe literacy is the foundation for learning, communication and lifelong success.

Our Literacy programs are designed to develop confident readers, capable writers and effective communicators through engaging, explicit and purposeful learning experiences.

Students are supported to build strong literacy skills across Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening through a balanced approach that combines evidence-based teaching practices, differentiated instruction and authentic learning opportunities.

Through our Literacy programs, students are encouraged to:

• strengthen comprehension, vocabulary and communication skills
• develop creativity and self-expression
• engage with a variety of quality texts and learning experiences
• communicate ideas clearly and respectfully
