As we come to the end of another successful school year, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of School Council, to sincerely thank the many people who contribute so much to our school community.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Miss Cooke, our Principal, for her exceptional leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to Karingal Primary School. I am also deeply grateful to Mrs Schneider, our Assistant Principal, for her amazing leadership and ongoing support of staff, students, and families.
My sincere appreciation also goes to Mrs Toohey and Mrs Davies in the office. Their professionalism, care, and tireless work behind the scenes ensure the smooth running of our school each day, and their support is truly invaluable.
To all of our teachers and education support staff, thank you for your commitment, care, and passion for education. Your dedication to student learning and wellbeing makes a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of our children.
I would like to give special recognition to Mr C and Mrs Mac for guiding our Grade 6 students through their final year of primary school and preparing them for the transition to secondary school. Your leadership, encouragement, and guidance have been instrumental in supporting our students during this important milestone.
A very special thank you to Jenny, Bev, Glenys, Phil, Liz and Greta, who generously give their time to provide students with a healthy and delicious breakfast, helping to ensure they are ready to learn and thrive at school.
Thank you also to Marilyn, Julie, Jo and Emily for the incredible work you do in our community garden. Your efforts have created a thriving and welcoming space while fostering a love of gardening, sustainability, and hands-on learning among our students.
I would also like to acknowledge Jaimie from the Sixth Child, for his invaluable support in providing bikes and LEGO, which enrich our students’ learning experiences and encourage creativity, problem-solving, and active play.
To all parents, carers, and family members, thank you for the many ways you support our school throughout the year. Whether assisting at fundraising events, working bees, in classrooms, or on excursions, your time, generosity, and commitment make a significant difference to our school community.
I extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated, committed, and supportive School Council members - Kaz, Breigh, May, Hopi, Chloe, Georgia, Fiona, Ms G, Mrs Davies, Mrs Schneider and Miss Cooke - for all your support this year. Together, we have achieved so much to strengthen and improve Karingal Primary School.
To all of our students, thank you for your hard work, resilience, and dedication to your learning. You continue to make us proud every day.
To our Class of 2025, I wish you all the very best as you continue your education journey. May you achieve everything you dream of and more.
As the year draws to a close, I wish our entire school community a Christmas filled with rest, connection, and joy, and a holiday break that leaves you refreshed, recharged, and ready for the year ahead.

Our Annual Whole School Christmas Roast Dinner
What a wonderful way to come together and celebrate the end of another year as a school community. Our Annual Whole School Christmas Roast Dinner was filled with joy, laughter, and festive spirit, as students and staff shared a delicious sit-down roast lunch complete with bon bons, decorations, and plenty of Christmas cheer. Moments like these truly remind us that our school is more than just a place of learning, it is one big family.
A special mention must go to our incredible students, who were absolutely outstanding throughout the day. Sitting together in a warm hall for close to two hours is no small feat, yet our students displayed exceptional behaviour, patience, and respect. They listened carefully, waited calmly, and treated one another and our volunteers with kindness and gratitude. We could not be prouder of the way they represented our school values and contributed to such a successful event.
It was also a pleasure to welcome some of our valued VIPs who generously donate their time and resources to support our school throughout the year. We were delighted to be joined by Paul Edbrooke MP and his staff, as well as staff from Jodie Belyea MP’s office. Their ongoing support and connection to our school community is greatly appreciated.
A huge thank you goes to our amazing parent volunteers who help make this much-loved tradition possible each year. A special shout-out to our head chef, Rhian, for preparing such an incredible meal for the entire school, and to Breigh and our Parents & Friends Committee for their outstanding organisation and the beautiful festive decorations that transformed the hall.
We also thank Adele (past student) and Terence for generously giving their time to sing and add to the joyful atmosphere.
This special day would not be possible without the combined efforts of our staff, families, volunteers, and wider community. Thank you to everyone involved for creating such a memorable celebration and for helping make this a truly special end-of-year experience for our students.
Thank you to our helpers (parents/carers/students/former students/grandparents/staff family members):

Our youngest students recently enjoyed a very special outing to Regis Aged Care, where they shared the joy of the season by singing Christmas carols for residents and staff. Their bright smiles and beautiful voices brought plenty of festive cheer and were warmly received by everyone there.
The performance was made even more special with the support of our wonderful Glee Club, who joined in to create a truly heart-warming experience. We were also delighted to welcome back past student Adele, who helped bring the performance to a memorable close and finish on a high note.
A heartfelt thank you to Regis Aged Care for having us and for welcoming our students so warmly. It was a lovely opportunity for our school community to connect, give back, and spread some Christmas joy
Our Foundation students recently enjoyed an exciting and important learning session with our local firefighters. During the visit, students learned how to recognise dangerous situations, ways to minimise the risk of fires, what to do and how to respond in an emergency, and what firefighters wear to protect themselves. A key message was the importance of never re-entering a burning building. The students were highly engaged and asked fantastic questions throughout the session.
This learning was further reinforced during a second visit from the Frankston Fire Brigade, where our Prep classes explored firefighting equipment and had the opportunity to use the firefighting hose. Students also discussed the importance of having a safe evacuation meeting point at home and knowing to call 000 in an emergency.
It was a valuable and memorable experience that helped build confidence, awareness, and essential safety knowledge.
Our Junior School students wrapped up the year with a fun and exciting excursion to Village Cinemas, where they enjoyed watching Zootopia 2 on the big screen. The experience was made even better with much-loved choc tops and a pizza lunch, which were a big hit with everyone ??
It was a wonderful way to celebrate a fantastic year of learning and create some special end-of-year memories together.
Our Year 5/6 students recently spent two fantastic days at the beach, combining fun with important learning through a hands-on water safety program. Across the two days, students developed valuable skills and knowledge around staying safe in and around the water, while also building confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
Alongside the learning, there was plenty of fun to be had, with students enjoying time on the sand and in the water under careful supervision. It was a memorable experience that reinforced essential safety messages while celebrating the end of the year together in a positive and active way.
Our brave and fearless Year 3/4 A and B students enjoyed a truly action-packed end-of-year celebration at the Enchanted Adventure Garden. From the moment they arrived, the excitement was clear as students eagerly explored the grounds and embraced every challenge on offer. The day was filled with adventure as they navigated winding mazes, raced down slides, and tested their courage and balance on the surfing trees.
Throughout the experience, students demonstrated resilience, determination, and a wonderful willingness to step outside their comfort zones. They supported and encouraged one another, celebrating successes big and small, and showing the strong sense of teamwork that has been built throughout the year. Teachers were incredibly proud to see students applying the confidence, cooperation, and problem-solving skills developed in the classroom in a real-world setting.
The celebration was a well-earned reward for a year of hard work, growth, and learning. It provided the perfect opportunity to reflect on achievements, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories together. With plenty of smiles, laughter, and moments of pride, the day was a fitting and joyful way to conclude a fantastic year for our Year 3/4 students.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Billie and Charlee have been selected to represent the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association (MPCA) at the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union (VMCU) Carnival this January.
Chosen from a highly competitive group of around 90 Under 12 girls across the Peninsula, Billie and Charlee earned two of the 12 coveted spots in the final squad - a remarkable achievement that reflects their talent, commitment, and hard work.
The VMCU Carnival will see the girls play six games of cricket across nine days, beginning January 5th, 2026, providing an exciting opportunity to test their skills against the best young players from across metropolitan Victoria.
Adding to this outstanding achievement, both Billie and Charlee were last season’s Seaford Tigers Cricket Club Best & Fairest Award winners, a testament to their consistency, sportsmanship, and impact on the field.
Billie is a dynamic all-round contributor - a keen opening batter, reliable wicketkeeper, and a valuable bowling option, making an impact in every match she plays.
Charlee leads from the front with the ball as an opening bowler, transitioning from medium pace to confidently bowling leg spin - a rare and impressive skill for a player of her age.
We congratulate Billie and Charlee on this well-deserved selection and wish them every success at the VMCU Carnival. Karingal Primary School is incredibly proud of you both!
