Principal News - 19th September, 2025

Dear KPS Families,

As we wrap up another fantastic term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the highlights and thank our amazing school community.

Footy Day Fun
Our Footy Day was a huge success! It was wonderful to see so many students, staff, and families dressed in their team colours, celebrating our love of footy. The energy and excitement around the school were infectious, and it was a fantastic way to finish off the term with laughter and team spirit.

Father’s Day Breakfast
The sun was shining, and it was a perfect morning for our Father’s Day Breakfast. It was fantastic to see so many dads and special people turn up to be cooked breakfast by Mr C, David, and Mrs Schneider. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was a lovely way to celebrate the important role these special people play in our students’ lives.

Congratulations to Marilyn – Victorian Schools Garden Champion
A very special congratulations to Marilyn, who was recently recognised as the Victorian Schools Garden Champion at a Principals’ Breakfast. This is an incredible achievement and a testament to her passion, creativity, and hard work in leading our school garden program. We are so fortunate to have her guiding our students and helping to make sustainability and outdoor learning such a valued part of our school.

Thank You and Safe Holidays
Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for making Term 3 such a positive and productive term. I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe holiday break, filled with fun and rest.

I look forward to seeing everyone again when I return from Long Service Leave in Term 4.

Stay safe and take care

Garden Update 190925 from Marilyn

Marilyn Wins Victorian Schools Garden Champion Award

We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Marilyn has been recognised as the 2025 Victorian Schools Garden Champion Award!

This prestigious award is part of the Victorian Schools Garden Program (VSGP) Awards, which celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to nurture and inspire school garden programs. Marilyn’s passion, creativity, and dedication have transformed our school garden into a vibrant, educational space that engages our students and connects our whole school community.

The award was presented at the Principals’ Breakfast on Monday, with much-loved gardener Costa Georgiadis helping to honour the occasion. It was a special moment to see Marilyn’s hard work and commitment acknowledged on such a significant stage.

Marilyn’s achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished when someone cares deeply about sustainability, hands-on learning, and fostering a love of the natural world. We are so fortunate to have her leading our garden program and inspiring both students and our wider community.

CONGRATULATIONS and thank you Marilyn.

Footy Day 2025

Footy Day 2025 – A Day Full of Team Spirit and Fun!

Our annual Footy Day was a huge hit this year, bringing plenty of colour, excitement, and community spirit to Karingal Primary School!

The day kicked off with our much-loved Footy Parade, where students proudly showcased their team colours. It was fantastic to see a sea of jumpers, scarves, and flags representing a wide variety of AFL teams. The smiles, cheers, and energy made for a spectacular start to the celebrations.

Following the parade, the fun continued with inflatable activities that had everyone bouncing, sliding, and racing their way through exciting challenges. The laughter and joy across the school grounds were infectious, as students and staff got involved in the action.

To top it all off, families and students enjoyed a delicious hot food lunch, lovingly prepared and served by our wonderful parent volunteers. From footy franks to pies, the lunch was a huge hit and added an extra layer of fun to the day. A special thank you goes to our parents for their time and effort in making this such a highlight of the event.

Footy Day is always a favourite tradition, and this year was no exception. What a fantastic way to come together, celebrate our love of footy, and finish Term 3 on a high note!

2025 Father's Day Breakfast

Thank you to the many dads and father figures (and mums!) who joined us  for Father’s Day Breakfast. It was a fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful way to celebrate as a community.

A beautiful morning in every way.

SPOOKY DISCO - TONIGHT

TONIGHT - Friday 17th October is our Annual Spooky Disco.

Just a reminder that no face masks/coverings are to be worn.

Disco will be 6-8pm.

DJ Helen will be spinning the tunes.

ComputerXplorers Tech Club – Back in Term 4

Computer Xplorers had such a fantastic Term 3 with the Karingal Tech Club, and they’re so proud of all their young coders! We’re back in Term 4!?

Years 3-6

In Term 3, the 3-6s spent weeks designing and publishing their very own video games. They showed incredible focus, creativity, and determination- building problem-solving skills, logic, and resilience along the way. We were blown away by the level of effort everyone put in!

Next term, we’ll be diving into 3D Design and Printing. Children will learn how to create their own 3D models and see how digital designs can be transformed into real-life objects. It’s going to be a fun, hands-on way to explore creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking.

Years Prep-2

The 1-2s were awesome – full of energy and curiosity! They explored game design, coding, animation, and even had a go at coding our robot cars! It was incredible to see how much fun they had while experimenting, creating, and sharing ideas.

Next term, we’ll be building on all that momentum with more coding, animation, and dun with new tech gadgets.

It’s been a wonderful term, and we can’t wait to see both returning and new faces next term. Spots are limited, so make sure to book early to secure your place!
