TERMITE DAMAGE
Unfortunately, it has been established that we have severe termite damage in the Senior toilets. ‘MakeSafe’ from the Department are investigating the extent of the problem. Currently, the Senior toilets have been closed off and replaced with Portaloo’s.
There is also some termite damage in the Montessori building and Deirdre and Carol have had to relocate into different classrooms.
At the moment it is a day-by-day situation, and we are relying on expert contractors for advice. Currently, the long-term outcome is unknown; once a report has been written, the department will be able to provide me with an outcome and further advice.
I would like to send a huge shout out and thank you to Chris Davies who has been the ‘go to’ person for all the contractors and worksite people. As always, Chris has gone above and beyond in organising what has needed to be organised.
HARMONY & FRIENDSHIP DAY
Last Friday we celebrated and acknowledged Harmony and Friendship Day. We acknowledge this day to recognise kindness and celebrate diversity. It ws wonderful to see students wearing their splash of orange and odd socks.
Thank you to Breigh and her wonderful parent helpers for organising the hot food pizza lunch. It was so yummy and everyone loved the special lunch.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following students who received a classroom award at assembly:
We've had some rain since our last update and such a growth spurt for our four productive Veg/Salad garden beds!
Savannah had been growing some Apple Cucumbers and we finally had a taste test enjoyed by a little group... The verdict: Delicious!
Last Tuesday I spent the most beautiful day at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne where I participated in a Student Health and Wellbeing in Nature Workshop!
There was an amazing reaction and interest in our Community Garden from other participants, mostly teachers from Early Learning, Kinder, Primary and Secondary schools who gained much inspiration from our project!
Julie, Jo and I got creative on Wednesday indulging an idea of making Wonky A- Frames with branches destined for the tip! We are so happy with the finished product ready for our Snow Peas to climb (see photos). They add height and structure to the garden and we can hopefully make some decorations eg Wind chimes etc to add some fun...
Students also busily planted Sweet Peas (on St Patrick's Day as a Gardening tradition), as well as Poppies, Gazanias, Dianthus and Nasturtiums. Another group spent their break adding Succulents to our Rockery Garden!
Please drop in to see our garden as it grows and changes over the Autumn months.
