Congratulations to the following students who received a classroom award at assembly:
* Tamikah, Cody and Isaac (12B)
* William and Juliana (34A)

3/4 Camp

Our Year 3 and 4 students had an AMAZING time at Camp Manyung. For a lot of our students it was the first time away from home.

The children participated in activities including the giant swing, the flying fox, cooking and bike riding.

Resilience was tested and all students faced challenges with a positive approach. We were very proud of them.

A HUGE thank you to Mr Casanova who organised the camp for the students.

Special thank you's to John Casanova, Carol Chainey, Vic Quirk, Jess Angelico, Kika, Cassie, Jacquie Schneider, Maree Vine and Georgia Farley who took time away from their families to join camp and support our students.

5/6 Sport Update

It has been a busy few weeks for our 5/6 sporting teams taking part in both a Basketball and Cricket tournament.

The competition was tough but our students are made tough.

Both teams came away 3rd at the basketball tournament.

Our boys team finishing 3rd in cricket and our girls dominating the cricket day to finish on top.

Congratulations to all our teams and a special congratulations to our girls cricket team who will progress to the Divisional competition

Puffing Billy

Despite the freezing weather, our Puffing Billy excursion was a tremendous success!

The students had an absolute blast, tying together all of our inquiry units on inventions, days of old, and push/pull concepts.

The scenic train ride through the beautiful bush was the highlight, but the new Lakeside Pavilion provided plenty of engaging educational activities for a fantastic day of learning and fun for everyone!

Footy Day

Footy Day is always a blast. Teams were celebrated and cheered in the footy day parade followed by students having a lot of fun in the footy activities.
To make the day even better, a yummy hot food lunch was provided.

Thank you to everyone for making the day a spectacular event!

Sovereign Hill

Our Year 56 students arrived at school on Wednesday at 7.30am to start their long journey to Sovereign Hill. The weather was shining upon them when they were experiencing the mnagic and adventure of the Gold Rush era. Our students displayed exemplary manners and behaviours whilst they were allowed to explore Soveriegn Hill in their independent groups. Arriving back at 7pm that night, the Year 56s were too high from the sugar bought and consumed to be tired!!! They had a wonderful excursion.

Thank you to all the staff for providing their time and support for students to experience this opporunity.

Community Garden Update 20/09/2024

Our garden is looking amazing with Daisies, Lavenders, Daffodils, Bluebells and Tulips in bloom!

We have added little paths through the Butterfly Border edged with logs rescued from a nature strip and will add more logs soon to create a haven for wildlife...

Some of our students/aspiring Landscape Designers have created their very own Fairy Garden complete with trails, tunnels and gateways sourcing stones, twigs, logs, pebbles and other decorative items from around the school yard!

Students were excited to finally plant out cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and carrots into one of our apple crates and proudly added their name tags to the garden bed!

At recess and lunchtime back they planted a dedicated Strawberry Patch which we will patiently wait to taste.

Once again special thank you to Bunnings for providing us with bags of compost and potting mix; much appreciated!

Thanks also to Julie for the vegetable seedlings and mulch.

If you have anything which we may be able to use in the garden eg pots, tubs, windchimes, pine cones etc please notify the office.

Hope to see you in the garden!

Marilyn

Once again, we can't thank Marilyn enough for her dedication, enthusiasm and effort in making a boring space beautiful.
