Congratulations to Stephanie BM (M3A) for being selected as the Karingal Primary School Writer of the Week. It was wonderful to see the excitement on Steph's face when being selected. Congratulations on your fantastic writing.

We were joined by Mr Stan Szuty, Mrs Karen Luff, Justin Bolton (architect) and Daniel Potts (architect) to officially open our new school building.
A very exciting day at Karingal Primary School with the official opening of our new building.
The new building encompasses not only the school hall, but also the art and science classrooms with an outdoor upgrade for the junior playground.
Principal, Sam Cooke, student leaders and architects gave a comprehensive tour of the new additions and helped with the official ribbon cutting.
This term we have seen students represent our school at the District Athletics Carnival in both Track and Field events.
Our students displayed great sportsmanship and came away with winning ribbons across all age groups. Those students that excelled will now compete at the Divisional Athletics in October.
Congratulations to all our competitors
Thursday 20th June @ 5.30pm
We are having a Family Star Gazing Night hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society at our school. It will complement the Earth and Space science that Years 3 - 6 will be studying this term. The event is open to all members of our school community.
This will be an opportunity for students and their families to learn about the Night Sky from expert astronomers. You will be able to hold part of a meteorite, learn about the stars and planets and use state of the art telescopes and binoculars to observe the craters on the Moon and get spectacular views of the planets. You can also look forward to views of Deep Sky objects such as the Jewel Box Cluster, The Tarantula Nebula and the double star Alpha Centauri, the closest star system to the Sun, which is likely to contain an Earth-like planet.
The evening will begin with a presentation in the new school hall followed by stargazing on the school oval.
Hot Dogs and hot drinks will be available on the night to purchase.
Dear Families,
In this year’s concert, the children will take you on a journey through all your favourite Science Fiction Movies, singing and dancing on every planet they visit.
We are starting early this year; rehearsals are already underway and we are thinking about props and costumes.
Many of the costumes we need are those dress-ups that you may have bought for a fancy dress party once, and then put them in the back of the cupboard.
If you think you may have a pair of Spock ears or a light sabre lurking around at home which you could lend us or donate to the props and costume department, please bring them into school and drop them off at the Music room.
Here is a wish list of the costumes we would like –
