Assistant Principal Messages

Bitmoji ImageSPRING IS HERE...and with spring comes a reminder for Term 4. Hats, Hats, Hats! Please locate these at home and have them ready at school for the beginning of Term 4. Or even better, why not find it tonight and bring it to school Friday.

THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone in our school community for being part of a fantastic term. It was a very busy Term 3 with so many different and engaging activities, that would not have been possible without our FABULOUS teachers, BRILLIANT P&F Committee and you, our WONDERFUL parents, who have helped out here and there. In my new role and Acting Assistant Principal I have loved experiencing the enthusiasm I get from the students when on yard duty, the buzz of learning in the different classrooms and the positives vibes from parents when on gate duty. Thanks for a great Term 3 and let’s keep up this great community feel for Term 4!

LATE ARRIVALS
We have had notification from the Department of Education that all students who arrive after 9:10am MUST be signed in by an ADULT at the OFFICE. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students. If your child is running abe there soon few minutes late and will arrive before 9:10am, then they can quickly check in at the office to receive a late pass. We are mandated by the department to monitor attendance and late arrives at school and would really appreciate your support in signing your child/children in and out of school.

NEW Uniform Supplier

We have recently changed our uniform supplier. We are now using A Plus Schoolwear. With the new supplier we have made purchasing your uniform easy. You simply log onto the website https://www.aplusschoolwear.com.au/ and purchase your garments. If you choose the deliver to school option, it will be packaged up and delivered to school, free of charge, for your children to bring home.

There is no actual uniform shop anymore, but the school will have 1 size of all garments for students to try on if necessary, before you place your order.

PSW no longer have any stock as we are going through the changeover process.

School Council News

Hello KPS families,

What a busy Term 3 we have had. I am sure that we are all looking forward to the break over the holidays.

Our School Disco on August 5th was AMAZING. Thank you to Helen for being our DJ and Russ for providing the lights, smoke and bubble machines! Everyone had a FANTASTIC night with lots of dancing and competitions. Even Miss Cooke and Mrs Schneider were seen on the dance floor!!

The start of this month saw our students had fun shopping at our Father’s/Special Persons stall. There was a lot of variety of items to choose from and we are sure that the recipients of those gifts loved the thought that went into choosing them.

The weather was beautiful for our annual Father’s Day breakfast, and it was lovely to see so many father’s and father figures join their students. I saw a couple of students proudly giving their special person a tour of their school. A BIG THANK YOU to Mr C, Miss Cooke, Mrs Schneider, Georgie Schneider, Fiona and Mrs Luff for giving up their Saturday morning to set up and cook.

We have also had Superheroes Day for Muscular Dystrophy, our Book Week events with Kite making and costume parade, a woodwork incursion for our junior students, a chess tournament hosted at our school, Grade 3&4 camp, some tremendous results in various sports and we finish off the term with our Hot Food Footy Day and coin trail!

Next term we will be just as jam packed with activities. We have a Splatacular Fun Run with slime and colours planned, the school concert, Christmas carols, our annual whole school Christmas lunch and at the end of term we will see our Grade 6 students graduate and leave us for the next journey in their education.

We will be continuing our Monday afternoon ‘coffee catch up” Karingal Families Connect, held in the community room from 3:00pm to 3:30 pm (enter via the office) ‘KFC’ is an opportunity for parents and carers of Karingal Primary students to get together for a chat, enjoy a hot drink and stay connected with the school community. All welcome!

There are always opportunities to help and be involved with school events and, sometimes you don’t even need to leave your home to support the events we are holding!

Please email Rachael.Franks@education.vic.gov.au if you would like some further information.

Enjoy your holidays! A much-deserved rest after a busy term indeed!

Children all around the world are all having nightmares. But, can the BFG and Danielle’s friends manage to lift the blanket of darkness in time and turn all the nightmares back to golden dreams? Join them as they learn about the magpies, the “Parrwangs”, and about how to be good friends.

Year 34 Camp: 7th, 8th and 9th September, 2022

Our Year 3 and 4 students had an AMAZING time at Camp Manyung last week... For a lot of our students it was the first time away from home.

The children participated in activities including the giant swing, the flying fox, cooking and bike riding.

Resilience was tested and all students faced challenges with a positive approach. We were very proud of them.

A HUGE thank you to Mr Casanova who organised the camp for the students.
Special thank you's to Helen James, John Casanova, Deirdre Finnegan, Daniel Toohey, Brigitta McGarrigle, Tayla Prioetti, Jacquie Schneider, Maree Vine and Jess Angelico who took time away from their families to join camp and support our students.

Superhero Week

Did you notice all the Superhero’s getting around on Tuesday!!
We celebrated Superhero Week on Tuesday to raise funds towards Muscular Dystrophy Australia!
We have our very own Superhero every day at KPS in Tremaine in Prep B who has Nemaline Myopathy which is a condition similar to Muscular Dystrophy.
We celebrated with a parade and of course some superhero dancing to some classic songs!
Altogether Karingal Primary managed to raise an AMAZING
⭐️$200⭐️ !!!
What a fantastic effort!
Thank you to our wonderful school community for getting behind this wonderful cause and helping to make a difference to the lives of those with Muscular Dystrophy!

Woodwork Incursion: September 2022

Our Junior school took part in a brilliant woodwork incursion with Craftpower.
Were you wondering where all those mini billy-carts came from?
Last week our junior school took part in a brilliant woodwork incursion with Craftpower where they learned about tools, design and construction, linking in with our invention studies. 🔨🥽 🧰
The session also allowed students to work on critical-thinking skills, self-esteem, confidence, and their developing sense of agency – that “can-do” mindset!

Father's Day Breakfast: 3rd September, 2022

On Saturday, September 3rd we held our Annual Father's Day Breakfast. THANK YOU to all the dads and special people who joined us.

Chess: 31st August, 2022

On August 31st Karingal Primary played host to some budding chess champions!
104 chess players from 8 different schools came together for the chess tournament. We had students from Prep right through to Grade 6 participate in the tournament.

Karingal Primary came 3rd overall! Riley T came a fabulous 14th individually.
As a result of our student's success we have qualified some of our students to participate in the Regional Semi-Final to be held at Karingal Primary in October!

Congratulations to all of our players on excellent sportsmanship!
A special thank you to our chess guru Ms Davies for organising the event!
