CONGRATULATIONS Mrs Luff - Happy Retirement

A message from Mrs Luff...

Dear Karingal Primary School Community,

Following a wonderful, ever-changing and at times challenging career with the Department of Education for over 46 years and with 23 of them spent at Karingal Primary School, I have made the decision to retire on the 1st August,2023.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my career as a teacher and principal, but it is now time to move on and do other things such as gardening, being a hands-on grandparent, volunteering and a bit of travel here and there.

The Department of Education has started the process of appointing a new Principal and I wish the successful applicant great success in their role.

Thankyou for the continued support I have received from students, families and staff over the years, it was greatly appreciated.

I wish you all the very best,

Kind regards,

Karen Luff

Principal

100 Days of Prep

On Monday, July 31st, our Preps celebrated 100 Days of school.
They looked very old and wise when they turned up on Monday! 👵👴🏼

They put on a little performance and parade for their parents and carers, before heading back to their classrooms for activities and games focussed on the number 💯.

The students counted out 100 items for a special snack pack and headed outside to have morning tea together with all the families.🍬

Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us, and thank you to our Parents and Friends Committee who organised the celebratory morning tea for the adults. 🧁

2023 Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey:

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

William's Birthday Wish

William (34B) has a heart of gold. Last week, on his way to school he said "Mum, can we take blankets to the homeless as it's freezing".  Mum said "Sure".

William then decided as he doesn't really need anything for his birthday if mum purchases him blankets to donate.

We have a person who walks the streets feeding and clothing the homeless as we have a very high rate in Frankston alone.

William has asked the school to appeal to families asking to donate any spare blankets, warm coats etc.

If you can help William, please donate your items to the school office and William will make sure they get to the right people.

Thank you.
