MOTHER’S/SPECIAL PERSONS DAY: Friday 12th May
Mother's/Special Person's Market Stall was held on Friday 12th May.
Thank you to Jess Opie and Karen Gibbs for purchasing a bulk of the Mother’s Day items and to Breigh DeWolf for running around and topping up the gifts.
I hope all mother’s/special persons had a lovely day.
A special thank you to Breigh whom, in her personal time, worked with the students to make a personalised/hand made craft item for a Mother’s Day gift. I hope you loved your gifts.

SCHOOL REVIEW
Karingal Primary School has our 4 year review this term. An independent reviewer along with a panel consisting of principal members, my boss, Rachael Franks and staff analyse the data in relation to the goals set 4 years ago. The review will take place over 3 days.
The first review day is 1st June.

ES DAY: Thursday 18th May
I would like to recognise, thank and celebrate our ES staff. It is ES Day on Thursday 18th May. Our ES staff are pivotal to our school and do an amazing job. We greatly appreciate them.
VISITORS AT SCHOOL
A friendly reminder that if you are supporting in classrooms and/or around the school, picking up early, or dropping off late, can you please make sure you sign yourself and/or child in at the office. This is for safety reasons including Emergency Evacuations.
EDUCATION WEEK: Monday 22nd May
SMILE SQUAD: Monday 10th July
Smile Squad will be visiting our school on 10th July for 2 weeks. Further information and communication will be provided.
Take care
Samantha Cooke
Principal (Acting)
WellBEEing Afternoon
National Bee Day is May 20th but our little bees will be celebrating on Monday 22nd with a WellBEEing afternoon. We are creating a whole school display where every student has a hexagon to create. They can decorate the hexagon to represent their personal strengths or a RIPRR value that they feel is most important at KPS. The honeycomb display will symbolise our community all being connected and to showcase what they bring and value in our wonderful KPS hive. Fingers crossed, I can have it ready for Wednesday’s Open Night.
Education Support Day (ES)
I know Miss Cooke has already mentioned this but, our ES staff are an amazing group of people who work with our students to improve, not only their academic ability, but to guide and help regulate little ones emotional levels. The ES work with individuals and small groups, plus help out in the sick bay and out on yard duty.
Prep Tops
Apologies, Apologies, Apologies.
I was in charge of organising the design and template of the prep tops this year. I employed the creative and artistic ability of Karen Gibbs to work with Blue Gum to create the printing layout. I didn’t know I was in charge of ordering the tops… let's call it, I’m still learning my role!
Miss Cooke did give me a gold star for owning up to my mistake and apologies to the community.
Sorry again Prep parents, but they look awesome!
Prep Enrolments.
Please collect your enrolment forms from the office if you have a child who is starting Prep in 2024. Also if you know of anyone who is intending on coming next year, please let them know so they can book in a tour or download enrolment forms from our school website. https://www.karingalps.vic.edu.au/
Our Community at Karingal Primary School
Karingal Primary School represents a community that creates an environment that welcomes everyone and encourages connections and friendships. We are a school community that embraces our students, parents, carers, staff, volunteers, and anyone that enters our school. We greet everyone with a friendly smile and ensure we always represent our school values with Respect, Integrity, Persistence, Resilience, and Relationships.
As we stand together as one, there are many families in our community that stand alone.
So we are asking our school community that if you see someone standing alone, or going through something that is challenging reach out to them, and more importantly ask them if they are okay.
As a school community, it is about building positive relationships and creating an environment that is safe and welcoming. Your mental health and wellbeing are important to us and we want our community to feel a sense of belonging.
Additionally, if you need to talk to someone, or need a little extra support contact our Primary Welfare Officer or speak to one of our caring and supportive Karingal Primary School staff members.
Reminder:
Everyone is welcomed at Karingal Families Connect!

Karingal Primary School provides students with free instruction to fulfil the standard curriculum requirements and we want to assure you that all contributions are voluntary.
Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and support for our students.
If you are able to pay your voluntary school contribution, can you please do so at the office. This would be much appreciated.
We want to thank you for all your support, whether that is through fundraising or volunteering your time. This has made a huge difference to our school and the programs we can offer.
