Christmas Lunch 2022

What a fabulous day we had at KPS today with our annual whole school 🎄🎅🤶Christmas Lunch 🤶🎅🎄
We had so much fun gathering as a school community and sharing a hot lunch with choices including roast chicken, roast beef or vegetable frittata all with roast veggies and don’t forget the ice cream, jelly or fruit salad for dessert!

Our fabulous Parent and Friends committee served us all with beautifully decorated tables complete with knives and forks, serviettes, bonbons and personalised name tags!

We even had a visit from Santa, The Grinch and some very special community guests.

We were very privileged to have our local Aboriginal Elders come and join us for our Christmas Lunch. We were very lucky to have Aunty Marice, Aunty Lynne and Aunty Karen join us for our meal.

We also had Nathan from Grade 4 reading our acknowledgement of country.

Our lunch was opened with some fabulous singing from Adele and then our Glee Club!

A MASSIVE thank you goes out to our dedicated P and F committee who worked so hard today and this week to make sure our whole school had the best day possible! We are truly thankful to you for giving up your time to make sure our school tradition continued and everyone enjoyed the day!

A massive shout out and THANK YOU goes out to Peta Murphy MP Federal Member for Dunkley and Paul Edbrooke MP for giving up some of their precious time to come and spend time at our Christmas lunch and get into the Christmas spirit with us!

Thank you Paul for sitting with our youngest and most enthusiastic preps we hope you enjoyed their conversation 😁

Peta presented the Louisa Dunkley shield and Paul presented a Parliamentary Book Award

Thank you also to Chef Tim Hollands, a world-renowned chef, who generously donated his time to prepare and cook our delicious meal with an amazing team of helpers that included some of our wonderful students.

School Council News

Hello KPS Families

WOW, what a year we have had!! It has been wonderful to be back to ‘normal’ after the Covid interruptions.

Term 4 has certainly been busy with our Peter Coombes Incursion, hosting a chess tournament, Junior school swimming, Grades 5 and 6 Beach Days, Soccer Gala, Life Education Van visit, a Girls Footy Tournament, an excursion to Sovereign Hill, Colour Splatacular Fun Run, School Concert, Christmas Sing-a-long and finally our WHOLE School Christmas Lunch. I think all of us deserve a nice long break!!

I would like to CONGRATULATE all of the students on their achievements this year whether it be in the classroom, sporting arena, chess table or on stage. I have been super impressed with each and every one of you.

THANK YOU to the students who have given assistance with various activities and events throughout the year.

Once again our SUPER AMAZING staff have gone above and beyond for our students to help give them some memorable experiences of Primary School. They give up much of their own time to provide these experiences and sometimes don’t get enough recognition. On behalf of the school council and ENTIRE school community THANK YOU for all you do for our students.

To Sam Cooke and Jacquie Schneider, THANK YOU for all your support and assistance this year. Most of what our parent’s and friends’ team have done wouldn’t be possible without you saying YES to our, sometimes crazy, ideas.

To Kerrie Toohey and Chris Davies THANK YOU for everything. You have always been willing to jump when I or another council member or parent needed something done. Both of you have had to learn a lot in your new (acting) roles and have done so with grace, energy, and a smile.

To each parent and carer who have given up their time to assist with various event this year THANK YOU. There are too many for me to remember to name you individually, but you know who you are. NONE of our events could happen without you so THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

My FINAL THANK YOU is to my fellow school council members. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you this year and we should all be super proud of what we have achieved for the school community. I look forward to working with you again next year.

To our Graduating class of 2022CONGRATULATIONS on completing your primary school journey. Wishing you all the best as you embark on the next phase of your schooling journey.

YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO

We have a lot of exciting events planned for next year PLUS our new school building will be finished sometime during the year.

I hope that our entire school community has a WONDERFUL holiday break.
