!!CURRICULUM DAY!!

MONDAY 15TH OCTOBER—NO STUDENTS

Dear Parents

Welcome back to term four. It looks like we have another busy 10 weeks in front of us. I had a wonderful break and would like to thank Cheryle Osborne for doing such a wonderful job while I was away. Being away lets you appreciate the place you have left a lot more and that is certainly the way I feel about Karingal Primary, it was great to return to a warm and friendly school, a community with teachers, parents and students working

together.

Curriculum Day-15th October

Students should not attend school on Monday 15th October during our curriculum day. The teachers will be developing our three year Strategic Plan. We will be working from the

recommendations of our recent review. If you want to have your say, turn to the back page!!

Fete 20th October

The Fete is only a week away and parents have been very busy with the last minute arrangements. Many thanks to Simone Judge and her team for getting teachers and parent helpers on board and ready to go. There will be a free dress day on Wednesday 17th October where students can donate an item for the lucky bags. This could be anything; small toys, pens, hair ties, balloons etc. A note with more details will go home to

parents. This is a last chance for everyone to help so please support us next Wednesday.

Sunsmart policy

It will be getting very hot for the remainder of the term. It is

essential that all students observe our sunsmart policy.

Students will need a broad-brimmed hat to wear during recess & lunch time. Hats are for sale in our uniform shop and we

expect the students to wear the broad brimmed hat which gives them total protection for the face and neck. Teachers will be asking students to go in the shade if they do not have a hat in the hot weather.

Outdoor Learning Areas

Building work will commence on our outdoor learning areas this term. By the end of term we will have five fully shaded outdoor learning areas with built in tables and seating for individual grades. The buildings and grounds committee of school council is presently planning the new bike shed.

Have a great weekend everyone but don’t forget to leave next weekend free for our fete.
